I love the way he defines cognitive dissonance in the third video below: "It's lying to yourself. That's what cognitive dissonance is." Personally, I know that so well especially when I've tried talking to people about the collapse of the World Trade Centre towers. Some people get very stressed and angry because their intuition knows it can't have happened in the way they were told by the media but that reality literally collides with their belief system, threatening to shatter it into pieces. They can't deal with that so they fight to defend it until they are ready to let go.
